Musk
Musk
Originally, musk was a substance contained in a gland of the Himalayan musk deer. Its smell was animal, powerful, almost fecal. Now, the species is protected and there are dozens of synthetic musks called "white musks", with a much less animal smell. They evoke the smell of skin, oscillating between slightly animalic, red fruit, powdery, and clean facets. Often combined because they are complementary, they bring sensuality and hold to the bottoms of many perfumes, creating an impression of cocoon and softness.
