The Japanese Shuniku that became a perfume
Imagine this: Japan, 1905. In the Nikko Jirushi workshop, artisans are crafting their mysterious shuniku—the red ink used for official seals. The air is steeped in deep, resinous essences from across Asia. No one could guess that, 120 years later, these ancestral aromas would become objects of desire.
Enter Kentaro Kuzuwa, the rebellious heir of the sixth generation. A former music director who travelled through 50 countries, he returns home with a bold idea: to transform the workshop’s precious scents into luxury perfumes. The result? ÉDIT(h). A collection that pays tribute to olfactory traditions rooted in centuries of Asian heritage.<. . .

These creations carry the soul of a century-old Japanese workshop. Each bottle is hand-polished, its heavy zinc cap meticulously shaped and brushed by artisans.
The “Remixes” collection takes the concept even further. European perfumers reinterpret the original formulas like DJs remixing a rare vinyl. “Jardin des mots” converses with “Jardin Tokyo,” “Cocktail Lane” responds to “Rose Mojito”… An olfactory dialogue between East and West.
Carried by growing international recognition, ÉDIT(h) is already emerging as one of the most innovative houses in contemporary perfumery.
