Vanille
It is a fruit that comes from an orchid native to Mexico was used by the Mayas and Aztecs for its aphrodisiac and energizing properties in "xocoatl", a beverage made from cocoa beans. Today, it is mainly cultivated on the Reunion Island, in Madagascar and in Indonesia. It is only after having dried for 9 to 18 months that it develops a complex perfume with spicy, smoky, sweet and woody facets.
This raw material is found in oriental perfumes, although it is often supplemented or replaced by vanillin, its main molecule that smells like vanilla sugar, as it is more economical.
